New Delhi: One of Norway’s largest oil and shipping companies, Haltbakk Bunkers, has announced it will immediately halt all fuel supplies to the US Navy, citing outrage over a televised clash between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy .  

The company’s decision was posted in a now-deleted Facebook statement. The deleted post went viral before being taken down.

,“We have today been witnesses to the biggest shitshow ever presented ‘live on tv’ by the current American president and his vice president. Huge credit to the president of Ukraine for restraining himself and for keeping calm even though USA put on a backstabbing tv show. It made us sick. Short and sweet. As a result, we have decided to immediately STOP as fuel provider to American forces in Norway and their ships calling Norwegian ports,” read the now-deleted post. 

The move comes after a heated exchange during a live broadcast meeting between Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Zelenskyy. Trump and Vance chastised the Ukrainian leader for a lack of gratitude, leading to a tense standoff that has sparked outrage across Europe.

Haltbakk Bunkers CEO Gunnar Gran doubled down on the company’s position in an interview with Kystens Næringsliv, stating:  

“Not a single litre will be delivered until Trump is finished.”

Gran emphasized that Haltbakk Bunkers had already ceased fuel supplies to Russia following the invasion of Ukraine three years ago.

“This meant that many of our competitors received significant additional income. We lost a lot of revenue. But we have a moral compass. Now, the US is excluded due to their behaviour towards the Ukrainians.”

Haltbakk Bunkers’ decision could have far-reaching consequences for the US Navy, which relies on commercial suppliers for refueling in Europe.
