Washington: As the calls to boycott Tesla continue on social media platforms, a TikTok user came out in support of the billionaire Elon Musk and said that boycotting Tesla CEO will only hurt American interests. 

His response to the boycott calls caught Elon Musk’s attention and has been retweeted by the DOGE chief. 

“Elon Musk and Tesla haters are some of the most delusional people. You want to hurt Elon Musk and you want to stop him from doing the best he can to get our government to be efficient and show us transparency… Boycotting Tesla will hurt only America and American jobs. China will be the leader in EVs and leader in AI and robotics. Teslas are the safest American rides,” Tiktoker emphasized. 

Tesla’s sales took a sharp decline in January across several key markets, with figures significantly lower than the same period in 2024. In California, a crucial market for the electric vehicle (EV) company, nearly 12% fewer Teslas were registered in January 2025 compared to the previous year, as per a report in news agency Reuters. 

“Things aren’t looking so golden for Tesla in the Golden State. Tesla’s dominance in the electric-vehicle market continues to falter as the brand reported its fifth consecutive quarterly registration decline,” said California New Car Dealers Association.

Elon Musk came under fire from several European political parties following his gesture at President Trump’s inauguration, which many called a ‘Nazi’ salute. 

Rejecting the claims made against him, Elon Musk in a post on X  said, “Don’t say Hess to Nazi accusations! Some people will Goebbels anything down! Stop Gőring your enemies! His pronouns would’ve been He/Himmler! Bet you did nazi that coming.” 

However, several quarters of social media users have called for a complete boycott of Tesla in Europe and other parts of the world.
