Washington: Just days after the intense Oval Office confrontation between Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, SpaceX CEO and Trump ally Elon Musk has issued a fresh warning to Kyiv.
In his statement, Musk claimed that Ukraine’s frontline defense would crumble if he decided to “turn off” the Starlink satellite internet system, which plays a crucial role in maintaining military communications.
Responding to an X user who called Russian President Vladimir Putin the aggressor and accused Musk of only criticizing Ukraine, the billionaire defended his stance.
“I literally challenged Putin to one-on-one physical combat over Ukraine, and my Starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian army. Their entire front line would collapse if I turned it off,” Musk wrote.
Expressing frustration over the ongoing war, he added: “I am sickened by years of slaughter in a stalemate that Ukraine will inevitably lose. Anyone who really cares, really thinks, and really understands wants the meat grinder to stop. PEACE NOW.”

When another user questioned who funded the massive Ukrainian flag unfurled in front of the White House, Musk responded:
“Place sanctions on the top 10 Ukrainian oligarchs, especially the ones with mansions in Monaco, and this will stop immediately. That is the key to the puzzle,” he wrote.
Musk’s Controversial Take on Zelenskyy
Earlier, Musk stirred controversy by calling Zelenskyy “evil” and accusing him of wanting a “forever war.”
“As distasteful as it is, Zelenskyy should be offered some kind of amnesty in a neutral country in exchange for a peaceful transition back to democracy in Ukraine,” Musk stated.
He further condemned the Ukrainian president, saying, “Zelenskyy wants a forever war, a never-ending graft meat grinder. This is evil.”

How Does Starlink Help Ukraine?
Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, the country’s fixed-line and mobile networks have been severely damaged by bombings. Starlink has played a crucial role in filling this gap by providing tens of thousands of satellite terminals to Ukraine.
Starlink enables users to access the internet for data and voice communication through small satellite dishes that connect to a constellation of satellites in orbit. While it is essential for military operations, civilians also rely on it to stay in touch with relatives.
The Ukrainian military uses Starlink for battlefield communication, making it virtually indispensable for command and control. Initially, Ukraine also used Starlink to guide attack drones, but Musk’s company, SpaceX, restricted that practice two years ago.
