Virginia: Sudiksha Konanki, an Indian-origin student in the United States, has mysteriously vanished and has been untraceable for the last four days. The 20-year-old girl was last seen at a beach in the Dominican Republic, four days ago. An extensive search is underway to locate the girl but she remains missing as of now.

Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old Indian-origin student of the University of Pittsburgh, was on a spring break trip to the Dominican Republic with her classmates. Sudiksha was with her group of friends in the resort town of Punta Cana and was last seen walking on the beach, four days ago on Thursday. Nobody has seen her or heard of her, ever since.

According to an article by New York Post, a spokesperson from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said that it was on Thursday evening that their office was contacted about a missing female; as per the officials, Sudiksha’s height was about 5 feet 3 inches and she had black hair and brown eyes. 

Missing Poster with Details of Sudiksha Konanki’s Last Appearance Circulated

A missing poster has been circulated that shares details about Sudiksha’s last appearance – she was wearing a brown bikini, big round earrings, a multi-coloured beaded bracelet on her left hand and yellow and steel ones on her right hand, and a metal anklet on her right leg.

The poster reads, “We need your help to get the word out! If you are in the area or can help with the search, or if you have any information that could lead to her whereabouts, please reach out. The more people who know, the better the chances we can bring her home safely.”

Sudiksha Konanki was last seen on March 6 and the search for her has been underway from the next day. There has been no positive outcome of the search operations and the authorities are continuing with their efforts. Drones and helicopters provided by the Dominican Armed Forces are also being used for her search.

University of Pittsburgh Issues Official Statement on Missing Indian-Origin Student

The Indian-origin student’s university, the University of Pittsburgh, has issued an official statement following her disappearance and has said that they are in constant touch with the authorities and the student’s family. 

The statement put out by the University spokesperson Jared Stonesifer reads, “University officials are in contact with Sudiksha Konanki’s family as well as authorities in Loudoun County, Virginia, and we have offered our full support in their efforts to find her and bring her home safely.”

Who is Sudiksha Konanki, Indian-Origin Student Missing in US?

According to Sudiksha Konanki’s LinkedIn profile, she is expected to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh in 2026 and has done her schooling from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia. 

The missing student’s father, while speaking to a leading media outlet, said that his daughter is ambitious and wants to pursue a career in medicine, become a doctor. He said that his daughter had told her friends that she was heading for a party at the resort on Wednesday; early in the morning, she went to the beach with her friends and a few guys she met. He said that later, Sudiksha’s friends came back but she did not; the student’s father said that her friends, who had accompanied her on the trip, alerted the authorities and they have been making an effort to look for her.
