The two minors Kfir Bibas and Ariel were among four hostages who were returned dead in four coffins to Israel on Friday.
As part of hostage exchange deal between Israel and Hamas, the terror outfit returned four hostages including two minors and their mother. Their family which had lost all the hope until the end were wished that they might reunite with their loved ones, were left devastated upon knowing that the hostages were not being returned alive.
When they were being released by Hamas, the news came that the minor boys were dead along with their mother. Upon receiving the bodies, the Israeli authorities said that they were doing a DNA analysis of the bodies to make sure the bodies were of Israeli citizens.
After the autopsy, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that though the bodies of the two children matched with the DNA but their mother’s body was not found. Instead there was a dead body of a woman from Gaza who was inside the coffin labeled with Shiri’s body.
Hamas said that the two minors and their mother were killed in an airstrike in November 2023, however, after the forensic analysis, the Israeli armed forces spokesperson said that the children were brutally murdered by Hamas.
