The roadside IED explosion allegedly targeted a vehicle belonging to the security forces. The blast was powerful enough to cause significant damage to the vehicle and resulted in the immediate deaths of two security officials. Two other officials sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby medical hospital for treatment.

Security forces rushed to the site and sealed the entire area. A combing search operation was launched to arrest the perpetrators of the blast.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region’s proximity to the Afghanistan border has made it vulnerable to cross-border terrorism and violence.

This is the second attack in a month. A few days back, a massive bomb attack shook the region. A bombing attack at a security installation in Pakistan’s northwest border province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has killed at least 12 people.
