‘Pakistan Spreading Lies’: Baloch Rebels Say Jaffar Express Standoff Far From Over- wna24

Quetta: Two days after the hijacking of train named Jaffar Express, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) issued a statement on Thursday and said that the standoff in Balochistan is very far from over and it will continue the battle with Pakistan’s army.

Baloch Liberation Army’s statement said that the army in Pakistan is hiding the real number of deaths in a bid to not lower the morale of the forces and urged international media to probe instead of reporting the narrative created and pushed by the Pakistani state and media.

According to an eyewitness, who reportedly claimed that 70 to 80 bodies were visible at the site, and many more could be inside the train. This contrasts with the Pakistan Army’s ISPR statement, which claimed that only 21 passengers and four security personnel were killed.

BLA in a statement, “Pakistan ISPR’s claim of ending the operation at Bolan of Balochistan is a lie and the battle continues. Pakistan Army has not yet publicly shared names and photographs of 100+ Pakistani soldiers killed. No names or photos of 33 Baloch fighters released (either),”

The Pakistani army said that it rescued over 340 train passengers in a two-day operation, which concluded late Wednesday. It also reported 28 soldier casualties, including 27 off-duty personnel.

Balochistan continues to be a volatile region, plagued by frequent attacks on security forces and infrastructure. The recent incident has sparked concerns about Pakistan’s security management, with doubts over the military’s response and transparency in the operation.
