‘Sheikh Hasina Will Return as PM’: Awami League Leader Makes Big Claim- wna24

Kolkata: Amid the ongoing political turmoil in Bangladesh, Dr Rabbi Alam, Vice President of the USA Awami League and a close aide of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, made bold claims about the situation. He called the political crisis as a “terrorist uprising.”

Speaking in Kolkata, Rabbi Alam predicted that Sheikh Hasina would return as Prime Minister of Bangladesh and attributed the crisis to external manipulation of the youth.

Dr Alam said, “Sheikh Hasina is coming back as the Prime Minister. The young generation has made a mistake, but that’s not their fault, they have been manipulated” he referred this to recent surge of protests and civil unrest in the country after Hasina was ousted.

He claimed that the current crisis is not a legitimate political uprising but rather a “terrorist uprising” and called on the international community to intervene. “Bangladesh is under attack and needs global attention,” he said.

In a direct appeal, Dr Alam demanded the resignation of the current Bangladesh government advisor, stating, “We ask the Bangladesh advisor to step down and return to where he came from.”

Dr Alam also thanked the Indian government for its support of Awami League leaders and for granting “safe passage” to Sheikh Hasina. 

“Many of our leaders are sheltered here in India, and we are deeply grateful. I also thank PM Narendra Modi for ensuring the safety of our Prime Minister,” he said.

The remarks come at a time when Bangladesh is facing one of its most intense political crises in recent history, marked by mass protests, crackdowns, and uncertainty over the country’s leadership.

Dr Alam’s statement signals continued resistance from Hasina’s Awami League, raising questions about the future political landscape of Bangladesh.
