President Trump May Meet Putin On May 9 In Moscow, Say Reports – wna24

Washington: US President Donald Trump may meet Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow on May 9 to mark Russia’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War 2, reports said. This comes after US and Russian officials met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as they held pre-negotiation talks on ending Ukraine war and also about resuming bilateral ties.  

Russia commemorates May 9 as victory day over Nazi Germany in World War 2 when a united Soviet Union including Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and others nations defeated Nazi Germany in 1945. The Soviet Union lost around 27 million people, largest by any country as they call it the ‘Great Patriotic War’.

Pushed by Donald Trump after his negotiation bid to end three-year-old Ukraine war, the US President last week held a lengthy conversation with Russian counterpart during which both agreed to ‘start immediately’ peace talks and end the war. Trump later had similar conversation with Zelenskyy also who too echoed the same as his counterparts.

Building upon telephonic conversations with Putin, US and Russian officials recently met in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh where they discussed the Ukraine war and resuming bilateral ties between both the countries.

Ever since pre-negotiation talks to end the war have started, Trump has been hitting out at Zelenskyy for trying to delay the efforts by his unreasonable demands and frustrating attitude. Trump’s repeated barbs at Ukrainian counterpart shows that he’s not interested much in what Zelenskyy cares about.

Donald Trump, a couple of days back in another attack at Zelenskyy blamed him for starting war with Russia with couldn’t be won. Trump says that Zelenskyy is a swindler who tricked America into the war and took billions of dollars.

Trump’s repeated criticism of Zelenskyy shows that the Ukrainian President will not be an important party in negotiation talks but rather he would be more interested in talks with Putin.
