Brooklyn: A 23-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly raped a 7-year-old boy under his care and uploaded the recorded assault on the dark web, as per media reports.
The accused identified as Ramel “Menah” Warner was living with a family in Brooklyn for almost two years, where he had been taking care of their child regularly.
According to federal prosecutors Warner recorded six distinct videos documenting the child’s sexual abuse, the People reported.
The accused was federally charged in January for endangering a child, forcible touching, and sexually abusing a minor under the age of 11. Following this revelation, Warner has been arrested by the NYPD and indicted with 11 charges over the ongoing case.
According to the indictment, “Not only did the defendant have access to children before his arrest, but even after being charged with raping a child, he continued to participate in a children’s dance group at a middle school.”
“The defendant’s relentless efforts to associate with children even after his arrest for a serious crime against a child show that he cannot be trusted to stay away from children if released,” it added.
Furthermore, the FBI and NYPD have urged any additional victims to come forward and file a complaint against him.
“The New York FBI/NYPD Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force is searching for possible victims involved in a child sexual exploitation investigation involving a man named Ramel Warner. A federal grand jury in the Eastern District of New York indicted Warner on January 28, 2025, with one count of sexual exploitation of a child. The FBI’s New York Office believes there may be additional victims in this case,” the FBI press release read.
“The FBI is asking parents or guardians, possible victims, or anyone with information about sexual exploitation by Warner should contact the FBI at RWarnerCase@fbi.gov,” it added.
Amid this revelation, Warners was arrested by NYPD and indicted with 11 charges over the ongoing case.
If convicted, then Warner faces a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years, as per a report by the People.
