who was nikola tesla

Nikola Tesla was born on July 10, 1856 in present-day Croatia.

His father's name was Milutin Tesla and mother's name was Duka Tesla. He was one of the 5 children of his parents.

When Tesla was in school, he was able to solve the most difficult math problems in his mind.

His teachers did not believe in him. He used to complete his syllabus in less time.

In 1875, he joined the Polytechnic College and stood first in nine examinations.

In 1881, he got a job in a telegraph company, where he made many improvements in communication equipment and re-designed the telephone amplifier.

In 1882, he got a job in the French unit of Thomas Edison's company, where he made many improvements in electrical equipment.

In 1884, he was transferred to America where he worked with Edison.

Tesla has been a great contributor to Thomas Edison's inventions, but for some reason there was a dispute between the two and Tesla left Edison's company.

After leaving Edison's company, he set up his own company in which an industrialist helped him.

When he put the AC power system in front of the world, his fate and that of the whole world changed.

With the AC system, electricity could be easily transported over long distances and was also very cheap.

Even today, electricity is made available in homes all over the world through AC system only.

Some important discoveries of Tesla: 1. AC power. 2. Tesla Waves (Electric waves) 3. Electric driven motor. (On which everything electrical is based.) 4. Wireless communication. 5. Robotics, Remote Control, Radar.

After this Tesla made many more inventions and died on 7 January 1943 at the age of 86.
