Who is Sudiksha Konanki, Search Ops On for Indian-Origin US Student Missing in Dominican Republic- wna24



A 20-year-old Indian-origin student, Sudiksha Konanki, has been missing for four days during her Spring Break trip to the Dominican Republic. Konanki, a student at the University of Pittsburgh, was last seen around 4 a.m. on March 6, walking on the beach at the Riu Republica Resort in Punta Cana.  

She had traveled with friends for the vacation, but while her friends returned, she did not. Her parents and friends have filed a missing persons report, and authorities have launched a search operation. So far, there have been no leads on her whereabouts. 

Konanki is a student at the University of Pittsburgh and is expected to graduate in 2026 as per her LinkedIn profile. Originally from Ashburn, Virginia, she previously attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria.  

She was last seen wearing a brown two-piece bikini, a multicolored beaded bracelet on her left wrist, yellow and steel bracelets on her right arm, an anklet on her right leg, and large round earrings.  

Local authorities and search and rescue teams in the Dominican Republic have been actively searching for Konanki. Defensa Civil, a rescue team, started searching for her on Saturday evening but had to pause at night. The search resumed early Sunday morning.  

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia has also been involved in the case and urged anyone with information to come forward. The University of Pittsburgh has assured full support to her family during this time.  

The circumstances surrounding Konanki’s disappearance remain unclear, and authorities continue to investigate.
