In an exclusive conversation with a US-based media outlet, Sudiksha Konanki’s father said that while the local authorities are suspecting an accidental drowning, he has filed a complaint to increase the intensity of the search operations and has also flagged concerns of possible foul play. The missing student’s father said that there could definitely be a possibility of his daughter drowning, but there is ‘growing suspicion’ that there may be a crime, particularly kidnapping.
Sudiksha Konanki’s father, Subbarayadu Konanki said that had his daughter drowned, she would have been thrown back to the shore by the strong waves, but since she hasn’t been found, a probe must be conducted to look into other possibilities, including kidnapping or abduction. Sudiksha Konanki’s family, i.e. her parents and two of their family friends, have travelled to Punta Cana from Virginia, where she was last seen, to look for their missing daughter.
