Define the term organic farming. Write its four advantages.

Ans. Organic farming: Production of unpolluted plant products by pursuing a farming system with minimal or no use of chemicals as fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides etc., is known as organic farming.

Advantages of organic farming:

(i) In organic farming there is minimal or no use of chemicals.

(ii) In this farming micro-organisms present in the soil are replenished.

(iii) It maintains the soil fertility.

(iv) Food obtained by this process is nutritious and unpolluted.
