(i) Atomic number
(ii) Mass number
Ans. (i) Atomic number: It is the number of protons of an atom and is denoted by ‘Z’. For example, atomic no. of C = 6.
(ii) Mass number: It is defined as the sum of the total number of protons and neutrons present in the nucleus of an atom. For example, nitrogen has 7 protons and 7 neutrons, therefore, its mass number is 14.
