Explain the occurrence of land breeze in coastal areas.

Ans. In coastal areas, during daytime, land becomes hotter than water. Air above the land rises up and cool air from the sea rushes into take its place causing sea breeze. Reverse occurs during night. Air above the water is warmer than air above the land, so it rises up and cool air from land takes its place causing land breeze.
