Newton’s first law of motion is also called law of inertia. Why?

According to first law of motion, a body at rest tries to be at rest and a body in motion continues to move in a straight line in the absence of an external force, i.e., a body cannot change its state of rest or motion itself. This inability of a body is called inertia. That is why we call Newton’s second law of motion, law of inertia.
