Q. Using a horizontal force of 200 N, we intend to move a wooden cabinet across a floor at a constant velocity. What is the friction force that will be exerted on the cabinet ?
Ans. In order to move the cabinet with constant velocity, the net force acting on it should be zero such that the forces are alanced. This is possible only if the frictional force is 200 N and acts in a direction opposite to the direction of motion of the cabinet.
