Why is the pressure on ground more when a man is walking than when he is standing?

Q. Why is the pressure on ground more when a man is walking than when he is standing?
Ans. Pressure is given by the expression P = F/A. When a man walks, he puts one foot on the ground at a time. The surface area of one foot is less, therefore, pressure is more, than while standing as surface area of both feet on the ground is more and hence pressure is less.
