He looks very dirty. Some beggars pretend to be lame or blind. They cry in painful voices. People are moved to pity. They give them money, clothes, flour, etc. But I don’t like it. Beggars should be kept in poor homes. There they should be given work to do. Nobody should be allowed to beg in public. It looks very ugly.
(6) A Street Hawker
Street hawkers are a common sight. They sell little things of daily use. They go from street to street. They shout to attract customers. They are popular with ladies and children. Some hawkers are very talkative. They are very clever. They trap their customers by oily words. They sell inferior goods. They charge very high prices. But some hawkers are very honest. (11) My Aim in Life
One must have some aim in life. A man without aim is like a rudderless boat. I too, have an aim in life. I have given a great deal of thought to this question. I have weighed the pros and cons of every profession. I don’t wish to become a politician. The game of politics does not fit in with my nature. It is a dirty game. The life of a businessman is too busy to afford any leisure. A businessman is always after money. His lust for money has no end. Lawyers are also very greedy. They try to squeeze as much money from their clients as possible. The life of an administrator or that of a teacher does not have much attraction for me. Administrators are generally very proud. Teachers, on the other hand, are thought to be the builders of nation. But they are poorly paid. They have to lead a life of want and neglect. The life of a doctor has caught my fascination. A doctor is held in high regard. He can do much in the service of mankind. He can also earn enough to lead a comfortable life. My aim in life is to become a good doctor. I will do my best to achieve this aim.

Drug addiction is becoming very common among our youth. Perhaps the youth find this life too burdensome. As an escape from it, they take to drugs. Sometimes parents themselves become the cause of it. They are either too strict or have no time to attend to their children. The young ones feel neglected. Our purposeless system of education is also one of the big causes. When the youth fail to get any employment after 15-20 years of education, they get frustrated and take to drugs. Drug addiction has become a big social problem. There is no short-cut cure for drug abuse. We often complain that our youth are going wrong. But, we hardly do anything to understand their problems. The best way to keep our youth away from drugs is to use their energies in constructive ways. An employment-based educational system should be evolved.
(13) Beauties of Nature
(Nature everywhere is beautiful. There is no end of the beauties of nature. Dewdrops on the green grass look like pearls. The sunrise is one of the loveliest scenes of nature. The setting sun, the starry night, the silvery light of the moon, the snow-covered mountains, the deep and dark forests, the sweet and fragrant flowers are only some of the beauties of nature. Beauties of nature soothe our eyes. They gladden our heart and ennoble our soul. Nature never betrays the heart that loves her. A lover of nature is simple in his heart and noble in his actions. A lover of nature is at peace with himself and also with the world. He enjoys peace of mind and contentment of heart. He does not run after material things. He feels the existence of God in nature itself. Like God, nature is omnipresent in one form or the other. As Tennyson’s brook’ says: ‘Men may come and men may go, but I go on forever.’
